UzPFL and UFA Hold Strategic Meeting Following Season Closure

On December 2, representatives of the Uzbekistan Professional Football League (UzPFL) met with executives of the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) to review the successful conclusion of the club football season and outline priorities for the upcoming 2026 campaign.

The meeting served as a key platform for both organizations to align their strategies and address critical areas ahead of the new season. Among the topics discussed were:

– Increasing Effective Playing Time in Superleague matches through potential innovations inspired by IFAB recommendations and best practices from international competitions;

– League’s 2026 Season Project, ensuring alignment with UFA’s plans for the FIFA World Cup year;

– Competition Regulations for the Uzbekistan Superleague, including proposed updates and improvements;

– Capacity Building for Club Analysts, focusing on enhancing skills and standardizing tools for video analysis of players during official matches;

– Implementation of VAR Infrastructure, including the establishment of technical rooms in Superleague stadiums and integration with a centralized hub.

The discussions were held in a constructive and collaborative atmosphere, reaffirming the shared commitment of both parties to elevate the standards of Uzbek football. Clear objectives have been set to ensure a smooth and progressive start to the 2026 season.
