Superleague. Round 12 Rescheduled to Support Uzbekistan National Team Preparations

June 2–10 has been designated as official FIFA dates, during which the Uzbekistan national team will play two crucial matches: against the UAE on June 5 in Abu Dhabi and against Qatar on June 10 in Tashkent.

The match against the UAE could be historic for Uzbek football, as even a draw might secure the team’s place in the World Cup. Given the importance of the fixture, head coach Temur Kapadze plans to begin preparations in Abu Dhabi earlier than usual. The national team will depart ahead of schedule to continue training in the UAE.

It’s expected that foreign players will also join the national camp earlier during the last ten days of May. This early gathering will allow Kapadze more time to work with the full squad. In light of this, the Uzbekistan Football Association and Uzbekistan Professional Football League have mutually agreed to postpone Round 12 of the Superleague until after the FIFA window. This will ensure that players from domestic clubs can join the national team in advance.

You can view the updated schedule through this link (first half of the season, second half of the season). The principle of holding Superleague matches on weekends and Cup matches in midweek has been maintained. Additionally, the quarterfinal stage of the Uzbekistan Cup has been moved to August.
