The Students Cup tournament, organized by the League for the third time, is once again proudly sponsored by Coca-Cola, just as in previous seasons. We believe it has already become a much-anticipated event among students.
This year, 73 universities competed for the championship in the Students Cup. The League officially registered a total of 871 students with a passion for sports. Naturally, among the applicants were also players who had already been registered in the League’s system. As per the tournament regulations, they were not granted licenses, and the universities replaced them with other eligible students.
Although universities from Tashkent city and region are among the participants, it's heartening to see students from all across the country joining the tournament. This is even more clearly reflected in the infographic. We’re also pleased to share that international students currently studying in Uzbekistan have now become part of the Students Cup. This season, 11 such students were registered. They expressed admiration for the attention being given to grassroots football in Uzbekistan, especially the efforts being led by the organization responsible for professional football.
Among the registered students, the oldest participant is 38 years old — a reminder that it's never too late to learn. On the other hand, many of the participants are 19 years old.
The League expresses its gratitude to Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov, for his support in engaging universities and student youth in the tournament. Special thanks also go to Minister of Internal Affairs, Aziz Tashpulatov, for ensuring the event was held in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment.
The winner of Students Cup 2025 will be determined on May 22. Join us for a spectacular final and awards ceremony at 18:15 near Jar Stadium. Every student from the winning universities will receive valuable commemorative gifts. The tournament’s top scorer will be awarded a smartphone. But that’s not the most important part — what truly matters is that for 10 days, we’ve been able to make students feel like real heroes.
