The preparation of the Khorezm Sports Complex for Superleague matches has entered its final stage.
After a 15-year break, the Khorezm Football Club, which returned to the Superleague, has been playing its home matches in various cities since the start of the season. During this period, renovation work was carried out at the Khorezm Sports Complex to meet Superleague requirements.
Throughout this time, League specialists have continuously monitored the complex’s readiness. Their most recent visit was on July 31, when they prepared the latest report. The findings indicate that Khorezm FC can finally host Superleague matches at its own home ground.
In addition, taking into account the use of VAR, the Khorezm Sports Complex—similar to the one in Termez—purchased its own VAR equipment and set up a dedicated VAR room. On July 31, League representatives and specialists from the “Sports Creative Association” responsible for television broadcasts also visited the complex and prepared a report on the work needed to ensure Superleague matches can be aired live.
Although the stadium’s floodlights had been adjusted and improved twice by July, they still did not meet Superleague standards. For this reason, official matches were not permitted there in May or June. As a result, additional technical upgrades began in July. As of July 31, the average lighting level of the floodlights had been raised to 1,830 lux. However, the matter is not yet fully resolved, as additional equipment is still being delivered to the complex. Ultimately, the average lighting is expected to exceed 2,000 lux.
Based on the above, an agreement has been reached for the Superleague to return to Khorezm Region, starting with the Khorezm vs. Qizilqum match in Round 19 of the season. Until then, League specialists from various departments will continue working closely with the club and stadium to finalize preparations for hosting official matches.
